so yesterday we had quite the adventure. first we started off the day by closing on our house...hooray.
later that day kaylee and a friend were playing while i was making dinner and somehow we think she tripped or fell and hit her ear on our stone fireplace. i heard the worst thud ever and then she started screaming. i ran over and she was holding the side of her head. at first i couldn't see what the injury until she moved her hand and blood was everywhere. she had a horizontal cut about an inch and a half across her ear and down to the cartilage. i ran next door and grabbed my neighbor and another friend that happened to be visiting her and they came over and helped keep everyone calm since kaylee was hysterical and pres was of course since kk was crying. kk's little friend just sat there, i felt so bad. they helped with kaylee while i called beau and my parents who ended up meeting us at the hospital. beau got home from work really fast which was great since i couldn't have driven and held kk at the same time.
they ended up giving her conscious sedation which is awesome and she just sat there while they stitched her up. 10 stitches in all and hopefully her scar won't be too bad. both my girls have a really hard time when they come out of sedation so we were there for a bit while she screamed and told us we all had 4 eyes....funny, but not so funny at the time!
anyway, probably one of the scariest experiences i've had so far with injuries and my kids. i should have been prepared since beau spent a good portion of his childhood in e.r's for stitches, broken bones...etc.
when i heard her hit her head i was sure she would've had a pretty bad head injury, but she didn't .
soooo thankful for wonderful neighbors, medical insurance and awesome family that drop everything and are there to help. i totally ruined my parents dinner at ruth chris last night. and if you've ever been to ruth's you'll know what a sacrifice that is. and above all so glad that kaylee is ok and that what could've been a much worse injury wasn't.
if you are a little squeamish you might not want to look at these pictures. i actually had to leave the room while they stitched since we all know how well i do in hospital settings.
*remember me passing out after presley's surgery? didn't want that happening again*
i warned you........................
