so we left for our california road trip 2009 adventure the tuesday before thanksgiving. we met beau's brother who had his three kids with him in slc and they followed us. there were a lot of potty breaks, food breaks, and gas breaks (and a couple stops since micks tire was low) but we made it to rocklin about 10:30 that night. i was super nervous for the drive since we've never taken them on a road trip, but they did really well. i told beau on the way home "looks like we're a driving family from now on!" plus with how much i hate to fly, driving is a better option. beau drove the entire way there, what a champ. after all his driving this summer, this trip was nothing. barbara and al recently bought a huge and REALLY nice house on wheels...r.v. they were nice enough to let us stay in it while we were there. it was parked in their drive-way and we had water and heat...my kind of roughin' it. two weeks was a little long to be away from home, but we love making our yearly trip out to visit everyone. hopefully we'll be able to next year too even with beau back in school. enjoy all the pictures!!!
