just down the street from our house at the Zermatt Resort a man built these amazing ice castles in the front of the resort. there are no other structures helping to hold the ice up...it's just all ice. he has these little sprinklers at the top that spray water out and he has an icicle farm where he "grows" his icicles at night and attached them to the structures during the day. he works about 14 hours each day on the castles. by the time they are all finished by about february they will be anywhere from 3 to 4 stories high. for $2 each we got to go walk around and take pictures. it was very cool and very Narnia looking. if you have a chance to come up and take a look at them i would for sure.
us posing in front of the castles, of course it was snowing today...and very cold!
jonathan lasted about 5 minutes out in the cold, what a wimp
protector of the ice castles
i couldn't convince pres that touching the ice without gloves would make her hands cold...she cried the whole way home
we asked him to climb up on top of the castle so we could take his picture, he laughed at us but did it anyway
